The Titan MPS™ is a flexible easy-to-use microwave sample preparation system for pressure digestion of a broad range of samples for subsequent inorganic analysis.
The 8-position pressure vessel microwave has dual magnetrons with 1,500 Watts peak output microwave power delivered in 1% output increments. Designed for rugged, routine laboratory use the system incorporates a stainless steel outer case, which encloses a cylindrical corrosion-resistant PFA coated oven cavity that ensures homogeneous microwave distribution.
Reproducible sample digestion is achieved through precise reaction control of temperature and/or pressure. Access to the sample area from above via a hinged lid offers easy sample access. The system employs 100 mL vessels and allows digestion temperatures up to 260 °C and pressures up to 100 bar.

Sample preparation is one of the most critical steps in your analytical process. Often accounting for 60% of your analytical timetable, it has a fundamental impact on laboratory throughput and analytical performance. Any errors within the sample preparation process will undermine the quality of your food data at all subsequent stages of your analysis. Here are five tips to improving your sample digestion for food samples.
Owing to the toxicity of heavy metals, it is increasingly important to test cannabis flowers and other cannabis derivatives so that patient and consumer safety is maintained as the use of cannabis becomes more common. This need has translated into an increasing demand for testing cannabis flowers and other cannabis derivatives for toxins such as the heavy metals cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), arsenic (As), and mercury (Hg). In this application note, we present data to illustrate the successful validation of the Titan MPS™ Microwave Sample Preparation System and the NexION® ICP-MS for the determination of heavy metals in cannabis flower according to the validation protocols set in USP General Chapter <233>, which are commonly used for evaluation of the levels of elemental impurities in samples.
This overview is intended to keep the pharmaceutical community abreast of the latest developments with regard to the new chapters on elemental impurities in pharmaceutical products. It has provided an overview of the salient points...
