Collection and Recycling Arrangements for PerkinElmer Customers in the United Kingdom
幸运8平台彩票The new UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations came in to force on 1st. July, 2007. After this date, PerkinElmer is required to finance the treatment, recycling and recovery of WEEE manufactured after August 2005 when this equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as new WEEE.
Under the UK WEEE Regulations, PerkinElmer is also required to finance the recycling of old equipment (pre-August 2005) that your new PerkinElmer purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. The old equipment that your new purchase replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.
PerkinElmer products are very competitively priced. Any new increase in operating costs for manufacturers such as PerkinElmer is normally reflected in a price increase in the product. However, instead of increasing the prices of our products PerkinElmer has decided to share these new environmental costs directly with our customers. We believe in being transparent with you on any new environmental costs that our products need to address.
Our approach to sharing these new environmental costs are:
- You pay for transportation of your WEEE to PerkinElmer’s appointed recycler in the UK. This can be arranged with PerkinElmer for a fixed cost at the time of ordering your new equipment.
- PerkinElmer pays for the costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the WEEE to meet UK targets.
- PerkinElmer pays for the costs of data management and reporting to the Environment Agency to demonstrate compliance with the UK WEEE regulations.
PerkinElmer is a member of a compliance scheme run by ‘B2B Compliance’ which will handle the legal obligations for collecting and recycling WEEE from 1st. July 2007.

Customers sending electrical and electronic equipment for recycling are advised that all returned items must be certified as clean and free from contamination. A complete decontamination must be performed on all equipment suspected of being contaminated. B2B Compliance will issue a decontamination certificate which must be completed and signed before any equipment can be collected.
