    Determination of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in Wallpapers Using ATD-GCMS

    Wallpaper is widely used throughout the world as an interior design choice that offers bright colors, rich designs and durability, all at an affordable price. Vinyl wallpaper has emerged as an especially durable choice over paper and non-woven varieties of wallpaper, however, its manufacturing poses many environmental concerns. When manufacturing wallpaper, a large amount of organic solvent is utilized in the treatment and printing processes. As a result, high levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be present in the product, which pose an inhalation risk to humans. To identify potential levels of VOCs in wallpaper samples, a method was undertaken, targeting 35 volatile organic compounds using a PerkinElmer TurboMatrix™ 650 ATD and PerkinElmer Clarus® SQ8 GC/MS, with results and methodology introduced in this study.

    Cannabinoid Monitoring in Dried Cannabis Flowers

    This application describes an analytical method for the chromatographic separation and quantitative monitoring of seven primary cannabinoids, including THC and THC-A, in cannabis extracts by HPLC with PDA detection. Naturally occurring cannabinoids, the main biologically active component of the cannabis plant, form a complex group of closely related compounds, of which 113 are known and 70 are well described. Of these, the primary focus has been on ?9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), as the primary active ingredient due to its pharmacological and toxicological characteristics, upon which strict legal limits have been enforced.

    Determination of 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol in water by Derivatization in headspace and GC/MS

    幸运8平台彩票Chlorophenols are by-products of the drinking water purification process and are also widely used as wood preservatives, herbicides and pesticides. In this study, the derivatization and extraction happened in the headspace vials during the vial thermostatting step. The derivatization reaction is affected by temperature and time, therefore the thermostat time and oven temperature of the headspace sampler were investigated for optimum derivitization/extraction conditions.

    Analysis of Cerium Dioxide Nanoparticles in Soil Using Single Particle ICP-MS

    This work demonstrates a robust method using SP-ICP-MS technology to detect CeO2 NPs which were extracted from soil samples with tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP). Over the past few decades, engineered nanoparticles (ENPs) have been increasingly used in many commercial products. As a result, more and more ENPs have been released into the environment, which raises concerns over their fate, toxicity and transport therein.

    Analysis of Cannabinoids in Hemp Seed Oils by HPLC Using PDA Detection

    幸运8平台彩票In this application, we describe a technique for the monitoring of six cannabinoids, including THC and CBD, in hemp seed oil by HPLC with PDA detection. Figure 1 shows the chemical structures for the six cannabinoids. In recent years, scientific knowledge regarding the composition and health benefits of edible hemp products has significantly increased. Hemp seed oil has been promoted as a good source of nutritious omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated acids, and may be a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to fish oil.

    Method 8260C by Purge and Trap Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry using the Clarus SQ 8

The method requires not only demonstration of laboratory sample preparation and handling competence but instrument performance as well. The study presented here demonstrates the PerkinElmer® Clarus® SQ 8 GC/MS with purge and trap sample introduction both meets and exceeds the performance criteria set out in method 8260C and describes the analytical results and instrumental methodology.

    Analysis of Drinking and Natural Waters using the NexION 2000 ICP-MS

    This work has demonstrated the ability of the NexION 2000 ICP-MS to analyze both natural and drinking water samples in Standard (i.e. non-cell) mode, in accordance with U.S. EPA Method 200.8. Accuracy has been demonstrated through the analysis of several reference materials and spike recoveries, with stability of at least nine hours. Method detection limits allow for trace-level determinations, while the ability to selectively suppress user-defined isotopes also allows the measurement of analyte levels usually only possible by ICP-OES or Flame AA. The NexION 2000 provides a comprehensive solution to the challenge of U.S. EPA Method 200.8 and other drinking and natural water analytical requirements across the globe.
